BIM FIREPROOFING
Our Services

BIM Modelling
Building Information Modelling (BIM) plays a vital role in the design, implementation, and management of passive fire protection (PFP) systems within buildings.

a. 3D Fire Compartmentation Mapping
BIM allows designers to define and visualise fire compartments throughout the building. Fire-resistance ratings for walls, doors, steel structures, and partitions are embedded in the model. BIM FIREPROOFING are also experienced with calculating thicknesses of passive fire protection coatings (reactive and non reactive).

b. Clash Detection for Fireproofing
BIM tools like Navisworks detect clashes between different disciplines, such as boarded steel encasements with block work or penetrations (pipes, ducts, cables) with MEP services, that could compromise fire compartmentation.

c. Compliance Validation
BIM models can integrate fire safety through data of tested details and automatically check for compliance. Fire ratings for materials are linked to certification data, and our BIM Fireproofing team is experienced in producing and maintaining firestopping design schedules backed up with references to technical assessments, engineering judgements, product classification and test certificates.

d. Asset Data
We incorporate asset data into various elements of the model, providing metadata on the type of passive fire protection system (e.g., pen seals, steel encasements) which is vital for project life cycle assurance.

e. Creation of Schedules and Take-offs
BIM is highly advantageous for generating schedules for estimating purposes. We can also create builder’s work schedules, specifying the correct spacings and dimensions for fireproofing elements.
2D and 3D Detailing
We provide 2D CAD details, including general arrangement layouts, plans, sections, detailed elevations, and isometric views.

Our expertise covers fire-rated enclosures, penetration seals, cavity barriers, fire curtains, flexible barriers, fire-rated partitions and ceilings, cementitious spray coatings, and more.

For 3D detailing, we transform 2D configurations into spatial views, enhancing visualisation and coordination to ensure seamless integration within the overall design.

Fabrication and Shop Drawings
We support prefabrication by creating detailed shop drawings for fire-rated enclosures, site constraints, and fire-rated hoardings.

For larger-scale items requiring steelwork and boarding, our solutions improve efficiency, enhance productivity, and reduce health and safety risks.
Site As-Builts and Redlines
After site installations, we conduct surveys to document completed work, producing redline drawings followed by final as-built documentation.

This ensures accurate records and smooth project handover.

Product Specification Service
Through our partnerships with leading UK manufacturers and our in-depth fire protection expertise, we assist principal designers and clients with early-stage coordination.

We provide guidance on product selection and help develop tender pack specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.

This service is also highly beneficial for contractors looking to take on detailed design. We offer expert guidance on the best products and configurations available on the market, ensuring they meet the required certifications for full compliance.
Design Integration and Coordination
We work closely with civil, MEP, and architectural teams to integrate passive fire protection seamlessly into their designs.

By ensuring compliance within each model, we help prevent conflicts and optimize fire safety solutions across all disciplines.
